Foundation: Module 5

Transcript

Welcome to module number five, where we are talking about goals.

goals have always been one of one of my favorite things, I consider myself very much to be a visionary.

And honestly, that’s what I titled myself in my businesses is, I’m the visionary, every business, every entrepreneur, as you scale and grow your business as you hire and delegate things out as you create opportunity for more people within your organizations, you have to be able to be that person that can articulate and allow others to see your vision.

So goals, how do we get from point A to point B, you know, if a plane takes off, and you’re headed from California to New York City, and one of the number one questions that I always ask a lot of my coaching clients, and even myself, right?

As we grow as we create things, sometimes we can just get stuck in the day to day and we think, Wow, I’m so happy or this is so great. I’m going to show up, and I’m just going to do my work today.

And oftentimes we forget, where are we going? Where are we headed? Where are we landing this plane? Right, you start we start to achieve success, we start to get things grooving, or maybe they’re not grooving. But all too often. If I ask someone, what do you want? I don’t know.

I don’t know. I don’t know what I want.

We do know what we want.

Most of us want freedom.

More, most of us want to be able to live a life that we love. And to get paid well for doing work that we love to do.

We want to be happy, right? It’s our purpose, to live, create, be happy, make money to support our wildest dreams, right? whatever that may be. It’s all different. It’s different for each each and every one of us. But what we have to be able to do is define what it is that we want to achieve.

What is that vision? And this is my favorite part of being able to sit down and write a letter to yourself five years from now 10 years from now, being able to identify who is that person?

What are they doing?

How are they spending their days?

Who are they spending their time with?

What work are they doing what makes them so incredibly happy.

It allows us to get out of our current conditions out of the current heaviness of whatever may be in this moment. Or maybe you’re in a place where you’re ready for the next level. But we don’t quite know what that next level is. This is what allows us to start painting that picture. And we don’t have to have all of the details figured out it’s good to have an idea.

But one of the things that I read recently is allowing yourself to release the outcome of Time, time is irrelevant. If you just allow things to come in and allow yourself to be guided you have the vision, we we can get so caught up in mapping out every single detail and so stuck on moving through each of those details is that we will we miss the greater opportunity that’s coming in? Or the the direction shift.

So there’s so many stories, if you listen around and you hear people say, Wow, like, yeah, I had this dream, but I, I never really thought it would it would turn into this, or I started here thinking I was going there. But this is what it turned into.

So my greatest piece of advice for you is as you’re working towards something bigger, map it out, feel it,

what does it feel like?

What are you doing?

Who are you working with?

What do you love?

How are you living your life,

design your life, design it, but then allow yourself to let it go and allow yourself to be be guided towards those things, picking up clues along the way.

You don’t have to have all of the answers right now. The answers will be given to you along the way.

So if you’ve ever heard the quote, you know, it’s it’s, it’s not about the top of the mountain, it’s about the journey towards the top of the mountain, we’re going to learn so much along the way, we get the tools that we need along the way, that’s guiding us towards that end goal.

And also really, really knowing and understanding when I first started setting goals and really tough goals. I would give myself at max a year, right always under estimating what I could do in a certain amount of time. So quarterly goals were always like, you know, a lot. Like every quarter, it’s like Alright, here we go. And it was hard and it was also every day, what do we check off? What do we check off? What do we check off versus allowing it to be having the vision and knowing where you’re going? mapping it out. There’s incredible project management systems. Now to that you can map About projects and, you know, key performance indicators that you need to be hitting and metrics that you need to be watching data. Of course, I’m not saying don’t watch those things. But what I’m saying is allow yourself to kind of loosen up the grips on the how, and allow things to happen. And, and give yourself that opportunity go for something, if something feels good, do it, and might not be on that list of to do things. But we get so caught up in the exact details in the exact way that we missed the greater opportunity. So really, think about what it is that you’re trying to achieve, and then reverse it, reverse engineer it, we have to be first before you can have, you must do before you become you must be. And also welcome your failures in. I have an incredible mentor that shared with me it’s like suka and Duka. We can’t we can’t protect ourselves from the bad while we’re trying to receive the abundance of the good. So if we have walls up, because we’re afraid of getting hurt, or we’re afraid of getting taken advantage of, or we’re afraid that someone’s going to take something from us. And so we have the walls of Berlin up all around us. What’s also happening is as we’re blocking those things that we consider negative or bad, we’re also blocking the abundance of what’s good that we’re seeking of what’s good. So it’s suka and Duka, suka is the sun, its abundance. It’s all of the love and the beauty Duka is exactly what it sounds like, right? dukey. So we allow all of it, because as we continue on this path, this specific path building your strong foundation, you’re strong enough to handle it all. And we have to have the Duka in order to have the sukkah. It’s like our fertilizer. So rather than blocking the Duca, we, we welcome it all. What we look at as a failure, it’s no longer a failure. It’s a learning opportunity. It’s guiding us we’re always being guided, we ask for strength, we get hurdles, we get things that fall apart. That’s what builds strength. That’s what builds resilience. So we have to be careful what we wish for and also know that when we’re on this higher path, when we are choosing to do hard things, we become stronger. when things don’t work out. And we keep going we become braver all of the tools that we need in order to get to that massive, massive end goal vision that you have. These are the tools that are necessary in order to become that person to stand in your own strength to be strong enough to welcome all of it in and to see it differently. To dance with the Duka. Allow it to fertilize. You allow it to let you rise up. It’s your manure. It’s your fertilizer, suka and Duka. So welcome at all, and have fun
